Ginger Crunch Slice Mix

Regular price $12.99Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Line with baking paper or grease a 20 x 20 cm (8 x 8 in) tin.
Base:
- In a bowl, empty slice mix (remove icing sachet).
- Stir in 200g (3/4 cup + 2 Tbsp) melted butter and mix well.
- Press firmly and evenly into tin.
- Bake 25-30 min, until lightly golden. Let cool while making icing.
Icing:
- In a saucepan, melt 100g (7 Tbsp) butter with icing mix.
- Optional: add 1-3 Tbsp golden syrup or honey for a softer, smoother top.
- Stir constantly until smooth (a whisk works well), then pour over base. While warm, sprinkle with candied ginger or nuts (optional). Cool completely before slicing.
Makes 12 large or 16 smaller slices. Use a 20x20cm square tin lined with baking paper.
